A CATALOGUE OF THE LIBRARY OF LEWIS THEOBALD, Esq. DECEAS'D: Among which are Many of the Classicks, Poets and Historians, of the best Editions. Many Variorums and Delphins. Several curious Manuscripts. Very near a compleat Collection of the scarce old Quarto Plays, all neatly done up singly in Boards. And other curious Articles. Which will be sold by Auction, on Tuesday October 23d, 1744, and the three following Eveni$gs, beginning exactly at Five o' Clock, at St. Paul's Coffee-House, in St. Paul's Church-Yard. Corbett's, in Fleet-street; at London-Stone Coffee-House, Cannon-street; at Tom's Coffee-House, Russel street, Covent-Garden; and at the Place of Sale.

Preface and paratexts

Conditions of SALE. I. THE highest Bidder to be the Buyer; but if any Differences arise, the Article in dispute to be put up again. / II. The Books are are all supposed to be perfect; but if any prove defective, before taken away, the Buyer is at Liberty to take or leave them. / III. Each Person to give in their Name and Place of Abode, and pay Five Shillings in the Pound, in part of what they buy (if requir'd) and no Book to be delivered without being paid for. / IV. That no Person advance less than Two-pence each Bidding, and not less than One Shilling after One Pound. / V. The Books to be taken away at the Buyer's Expence, and the Money be paid in two Days after the Sale is ended. / N. B. Attendance will be given every Day during the Sale, for the Delivery of such Books as the Buyers do not take away with them. / VI.
